ZeEUS – Zero Emission Urban Bus System

Bringing electrification to the heart of the urban bus network

Launch Event - London Demonstration

On

London, UK

London’s known for its fast pace, its attractions and the hundreds of red double decker buses that transport 6 million people around the Capital every day. With the population and employment expected to increase over the next few years, London must consider how to prepare its bus fleet for this rise, and at the same time ensure there is minimal impact on the environment.

By participating in the ZeEUS project, London will test 4 double decker buses that can use a high-powered wireless inductive charging system to top up their battery at the beginning and end of bus route 69 in East London.

The Launch Event will take place on 2 December. After high level speeches of, among others, Mike Weston (Director of Buses, TfL), Daniela Rosca (Head of Unit - Clean Transport and Sustainable Urban Mobility at DG MOVE, EC) and Umberto Guida (UITP Deputy Director of European Department and EU Projects Director, UITP), the participants will visit Walthamstow Central Bus Station for live demo of wireless charging system.
